Dan Hernandez, PGA Bio

Under the tuteledge of Roger Dunn, Dan Hernandez, PGA gave his first golf lesson at Studio City G.C. in Southern California in 1978.  Dan was working as a Club Fitting Specialist in Dunn’s North Hollywood golf shop when Dunn recognized Dan’s natural ability to communicate with people and took him under his wing.   

Eventually, Dan guided several professional golfers towards their ultimate goal including PGA Tour (2), Korn Ferry Tour (7), and Champions Tour (1) wins.   

He’s  served as professional consultant  and assistant coach for the College of the Canyons Golf team (California State Championship winners.)  He’s also assisted players from the CSUN golf team and UCLA Women’s Golf team. 

Dan has a strong junior golf background including a SCPGA Junior Golf Division victory. He was also a regional representative for “The Executive Women’s Golf League” founded by Barbara Nicklaus.

Dan’s passion to guide and assist remains his passion to this day.

Aside from teaching, Dan has served at the Head Golf Professional at Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry, CA and as Head Golf Professional and General Manager at the Valencia Country Club in Valencia, CA.  

Serving as a public relations and communications assistant, Hernandez played a key role during the PGA TOUR’S 1998 Nissan Open and was instrumental in bringing the Champions Tour’s SBC Senior Classic to Valencia Country Club. 

As a featured writer, Hernandez has been published in “Golf Lifestyle” and “Golf Tips” magazines and is the author of  “The Playing Evaluation Notebook” which was published in 1989.  

In other media, He regularly appeared on the Prime Ticket Network as a spokesperson and was a featured guest on the popular “J.C. Penny Shopping Channel.”  Hernandez was a swing model for an ASICS television commercial and has worked as a consultant for various television and movie productions including the television show “Any Day Now” and the movie “Blood Money” with Alan Arkin. 

Hernandez completed advanced PGA certification in 2015 and is currently (2026) working through the PGA Master Professional Program.
